As a new mom myself, I’ve learned that the smallest joys in life are also the most precious: a baby’s giggle, a warm hug, a safe place to grow. But in late 2025, that fragile, beautiful bubble of joy was shattered. My beloved niece—just 4 years old, with pigtails that always smelled like strawberry shampoo and a laugh that could light up a room—was diagnosed with leukemia. I’ll never forget the sight of her lying in that hospital bed, tiny body tangled in tubes and wires, too weak to even reach for the stuffed rabbit I’d brought her. My heart ached so badly I could barely breathe. As a brand-new mom, I couldn’t fathom how a child so young could endure so much pain. All I could do was sit by her side, hold her hand, whisper words of encouragement, and offer whatever financial support I could to ease my family’s burden.

In those long, sleepless nights at the hospital, my mind wandered to all the other children I couldn’t see—kids around the world who are fighting battles no one should ever have to face, who don’t have a loving family to hold their hand, who don’t have access to the care they desperately need. That’s when the decision hit me, quiet and unshakable: I needed to turn my pain into purpose. That’s why we’ve chosen to partner with UNICEF—an organization that fights tirelessly to give every child around the world the chance to thrive, no matter where they’re born.
